A new era for GWNE
Continuing our mission, with a simpler structure
At a special meeting in October 2026, GWNE members unanimously voted to transition from an incorporated association to a subcommittee of Gippsland Climate Change Network Ltd. (GCCN).
GWNE will operate with an independent Control Group, continuing its mission to empower women in the new energy sector across Gippsland.
The GWNE Control Group will focus on events, networking and advocacy, while GCCN will take responsibility for governance.
This simpler structure keeps GWNE’s mission at the heart of its work.
Let’s celebrate and empower women living regionally to succeed in traditionally male-dominated industries.

As part of the Gippsland New Energy Conference 2024, we hosted an empowering breakfast with over 200 people to hear from guest speaker Morgan Rossiter and meet like-minded people in the new energy sector.

For the third year running, GWNE has hosted the women’s breakfast on Day 2 of the Gippsland New Energy Conference, this year hearing from Lauren Little all the way from the UK to tell us about life in a small village after offshore wind came to town.
